All Protein Meatloaf

Not sure about all of you out there, but I always love me some good ole’ meatloaf.  For those of you that have never tried it, I completely understand.  A loaf of meat does not sound remotely appetizing or appealing.  Especially because you are really unsure of what ingredients are put in it.  My husband had never had meatloaf before either, so I made him this recipe and he was a big fan. And it’s one protein-packed, healthy recipe which is always a plus!


  • 2 lbs of bison (or another form of lean meat like ground turkey or ground beef)
  • 1 TBSP worchestershire sauce
  • 1 – 4 oz can of tomato sauce
  • 2 eggs
  • 2.5 TBSP chili powder
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 TBSP garlic pepper seasoning
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.  Mix together above ingredients in a bowl, easiest just to mix by hand.  Then lightly grease a bread loaf pan and place mixed meatloaf into the pan.  Press down so there’s no air pockets.  Feel free to drizzle some ketchup, mustard, or bbq sauce on top as a glaze.  Bake for 35-40 minutes, then let stand for 5 minutes before slicing and eating.  Feel free to top with a little of your favorite dipping sauce.
