Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup

Hey everyone,

I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted a recipe… so here’s a yummy one for the winter season.  Everyone needs some good soup recipes and Luke’s mom was kind enough to share hers with me.  It turned out really well and I would definitely recommend it to anyone!

  • 3 chicken breasts (we used 2 but definitely think it could have used another one)
  • 1-2 TBSP chicken flavored base
  • 12 cups of water
  • celery salt
  • pepper
  • garlic powder
  • thyme
  • parsley
  • ginger
  • 1/2 lb of carrots chopped up
  • 1/2 yellow onion, chopped
  • a few stalks of celery, chopped
  • frozen corn
  • 1 can of cream of chicken
  • frozen egg noodles

Directions:  In a big pot on the stove top put the water, chicken (frozen is fine), chicken base, and seasonings and stir and simmer til chicken is cooked through.  Then take the chicken out and chop up into bite-size pieces and put back into the pot.  Then add the cream of chicken and any vegetables you want in the soup.  Let simmer for another 20 minutes. Then add the frozen egg noodles and bring up to a boil and then back to simmer for another 20 minutes.  It’s pretty simple and delicious.  Much better than just the stuff you buy in a can! Enjoy! :)
