Costa Rica: Day 4
We started the day with our wonderful breakfast at the Anaconda restaurant on our hotel property. At this point in the trip Luke and I were both big fans of the breakfast typical which consisted of eggs, rice & beans, plantains, banana bread, and toast. Mmm so delicious!
The next big event on our agenda was a canopy tour or in other words zip lining! We hopped in the van and made our way to another hotel that was in charge of the zip lining. Then we went up a trail and got all suited up for our adventure. We had 10 zip lines to do on the course that took a little over an hour. They give us a quick crash coarse on how to ride down the zip line and then told us if we screwed up no cookies at the end for us! There were four guys that took a group of about 20 of us through the canopy. It was a ton of fun, but extremely hard to actually look around at the amazing views. You were too worried you might hit a tree or forget to stop to really pay attention to anything else. The tour guides were a lot of fun too! One of them kept calling me Princess, which I got a kick out of it. At the end of the tour we got the option to do a suspended drop and then ride on Tarzan’s swing. Luke and I both hung upside down on the swing. It was exhilarating! After it was all done they fed us some fruit and cookies and then we were on our way back to the hotel.
We decided to spend the afternoon relaxing at the beach. First we stopped at a restaurant right by the beach. We tried ceviche because we heard so many people on the plane talking about it. Wasn’t quite what I expected, but it was alright. Then I enjoyed a shrimp pasta and Luke has some type of fish. Then we stayed on the gorgeous beach til the sun pretty much set. It was nice. We stopped by the grocery store and picked up some drinks and snacks for the next couple days then hiked our way back up the hill to the hotel.
Then for the evening we were feeling lazy and really enjoyed our wood-fired pizza from the night before so we decided heck let’s go there again. So we enjoyed another evening at El Wagon. After dinner we decided to go out for the evening. We went to a dance club that was just down the street from our hotel. It was a ton of fun and I got all my dancing out of my system! Yes, Luke even danced! :) And then crashed into bed. I think I fell asleep before I hit the pillow!
