My husband and I have now been in the beautiful state of Colorado for 7 months. We have been fortunate enough to get to enjoy so many adventures since moving out here. This past weekend my husband, his sister, and I ventured up to Estes Park into the Rocky Mountain National Park. We were planning to do some snowshoeing on the trails, but the trails were so packed we never ended up putting on our snowshoes (second time now this has happened). I have brand new snowshoes that I still have not used. :( We ended up hiking the Emerald Lake trail. It was a beautiful calm sunny day and couldn’t have asked for a better day. Once we got to Emerald Lake there were guys boarding and skiing down the mountain. It was really fun to watch, but looked like a lot of work to hike all the way up there for one run down. But I guess you can’t beat fresh powder. :) All in all, it was a wonderful day in the mountains and I couldn’t be more thankful to have moments like those. You just have to smile and sit back and enjoy the moment.
