Steak Teriyaki Kabobs

photo-12

So I have been trying a few different marinades for grilling and so far have not found one that surpasses the chicken honey kabobs that I make.  Finally I found a new marinade that is delicious for steak!  Woot woot!  I got the recipe at the Penzey Spices’ store in Old Town Arvada.  Definitely give this a try!

Kabob Ingredients:

  • Sirloin or Flank steak, cut into smaller pieces
  • Veggies: I used red pepper, yellow pepper, mushrooms, and pineapple
  • Wooden skewers

Marinade Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup unseasoned rice vinegar
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1/4 cup peanut oil
  • 6 garlic cloves, crushed or minced
  • 1/2 tsp ginger
  • 1 TBSP sesame oil
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne red pepper
  • 1 rsp mustard powder
  • sprinkle of cinnamon and turmeric (optional)

Directions: Combine all marinade ingredients and mix it up.  Add your steak and veggies and marinade for 2-3 hours.  Then soak your skewers in water 30 minutes beforehand and then plop that steak and veggies on the skewers.  And grill it up!  Enjoy! :D
