“Tastiest shredded pork I’ve had in a long time!”
So I have finally made my first recipe from The Paleo Kitchen. And oh my goodness, it was good!!! And now I’m looking forward to making more delicious recipes from this book, which I will continue to share those that are worthy, which I have a feeling will be a lot! :) Below is the recipe with a smidge of modifications from the book.
- 2 lbs. of Pork Loin/Roast/Shoulder (it says bone-in, but I didn’t use one that had that)
- 1/2-3/4 cup of water
- 2 TBSP paprika
- 1 TBSP kosher salt
- 1 TBSP chili powder
- 1 TBSP cumin
- 1 TBSP black pepper
- 1/2 TBSP oregano
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
Directions: Combine all the seasoning in a small bowl. Then take out your thawed out pork and rub the spices all over the meat. Wrap up in plastic wrap and refrigerate at least 3 hours or overnight, whatever is easiest for ya! Then pop the meat in a crock pot with out the plastic of course. Add water and cook on low for 6-8 hours. When done, shred with a fork! And enjoy!
We topped ours with a little bbq sauce and had it with some delicious green beans! Hope you all give this a try and if you enjoy it go snag The Paleo Kitchen to try more delicious recipes!
