Chick-Fil-A Chicken Remix

ChickFilAfaceSo you are probably not going to believe this, but up until a month ago, I had never had Chick-Fil-A.  I know… you’re probably thinking what the hell is wrong with you… Did you grow up under a rock?  Well, kinda… I did grow up on a farm in Iowa… lol.  But honestly, there was never one near where I lived and after not having it for 28 years, I really didn’t know what I was missing out on.  Then finally my husband had the craving for some chicken and said it’s time I give in.  And honestly, for fast food, it’s pretty damn good chicken. :P

Anyway… I found this amaze ball recipe on Stupid Easy Paleo that is a remake of their chicken nuggets.  And honestly, they are pretty freaking good!  Hope you all give them a try.  I swear you won’t regret it.  Unless you do not like chicken nuggets and if that is the case… please leave now and never return!!!  Just kidding. :)

Prep Time: 15 minutes (minus marinading time)
Cook Time: 20ish minutes
Serves: 2-3 portions


  • 1 lb. chicken breast (cut into chunks)
  • 1/3 dill pickle juice
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 1 splash of water (can sub milk or coconut milk here)
  • 1 TBSP almond flour
  • 1 TBSP arrowroot powder
  • 1/2 TBSP paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • few TBSP avocado oil (for frying)


  1. Chop up chicken breast into chunks, put into a zip lock bag
  2. Add 1/3 pickle juice to chicken breast and marinade at least 2 hours or overnight
  3. When ready to cook dinner, drain pickle juice
  4. Mix egg and splash of water in a bowl and pour into baggie with chicken
  5. In another bowl mix dry ingredients: flour, arrowroot, and seasonings
  6. Drain liquid/egg from chicken bag and pour dry mixed ingredients in
  7. Massage seasonings into the chicken for a few minutes
  8. Get out pan and put a few TBSP of oil in it, heat to medium or a little lower than medium
  9. Fry your chicken, about 3-6 minutes per side, then serve with your favorite dipping sauce!
