Meatza Meatza!

“Oh ooh ooh, a moment on the lips, forever on your hips.”

Friends.Joey.PizzaCan you name that quote?  I don’t know about you, but I am a huge Friends tv show fan and just like Joey Tribbiani I love me some pizza.   Unfortunately, pizza is exactly the healthiest thing in the world to eat but man is it tasty!  Luckily, there is still a way to enjoy pizza without having all those daunting calories and that’s meatza!  Now meatza still isn’t the healthiest option out there, but it’s definitely better than ordering a greasy pizza from Dominos and satisfies that craving you have!  Plus this was it’s gluten-free and can be made dairy free as well. :)  Enjoy!

Prep Time: 5-10 minutes
Cook Time: 35 minutes
Servings: 4-5

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. of ground beef
  • 1 lb. of italian sausage
  • 1 egg
  • Italian seasonings
  • Garlic powder
  • Oregano
  • 1 jar of pizza sauce or you can make your own with tomato paste, puree, and seasonings
  • Any favorite pizza topping – keep it healthier by adding lots of veggies! Also fresh pressed garlic is one of my favorite toppings that adds so much yummy flavor
  • Cheese – optional

IMG_3045Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees
  2. Mix your beef, sausage, egg and seasoning in a bowl.  Hand mixing is best way to really work it all together.
  3. Press into deeper pan making the meat about 3/4 inch thick
  4. Bake for 15-20 minutes, til meat is decently cooked, drain off extra fat/grease
  5. Add pizza sauce and all the other toppings you like
  6. Bake for another 15 minutes
  7. Lastly broil on low – I always like my toppings crispy so I will broil for a couple minutes at the end
  8. Serve and enjoy! :D
